Larian Studios is working on Baldur's Gate 3 for Xbox Series X|S

The company has announced that an Xbox port of Baldur's Gate 3 is currently in development. Still, the official release announcement has been delayed due to major technical issues with the split-screen co-op.

The company recently noted that this game is launching on PS5 and PC version this summer on August 31st. The Xbox Series X/S version of the game is currently under development, but it is temporarily on hold.

LS noticed that the exclusivity of the video game for the PS5 is out of the question. The studio's video games are, in principle, not exclusive to any platform.  

Last week, on February 23rd, it was revealed that the video game was scheduled to release on August 31st for PS5, Mac, and PC. Fans of the exciting video series asked if the company would release a game on the Xbox.

Supervisor Sven Vincke noted that Sony did not pay the studio for the console exclusivity of the PS5 version of the game. Soon the company gave a more detailed comment. As it turned out, the company was working on a game for the Xbox, but in the process of this work, there needed to be more technical problems. Difficulties are associated, for example, with a cooperative video game in split-screen mode.

The company said it would announce the release of new items only when everything is 100% ready and does not want to make premature statements.

Before announcing a video game for different platforms, the studio wants to ensure that each version meets the highest standards.

It is still being determined whether the game's creators managed to cope with at least part of the problems that arose. We will wait for further comments.
