The Sims 4 Introduces Polyamory with New Lovestruck Expansion

EA is set to revolutionize "The Sims 4" experience with its latest expansion pack, Lovestruck, and a highly anticipated free update introducing polyamory into the game. This marks a first in the series' history, as no previous Sims game has officially supported open or polyamorous relationships. The update will eliminate the need for mods that suppress jealousy, a common issue in the game's previous relationship dynamics.

New Romantic Boundaries System

The upcoming free update includes a "Romantic Boundaries" system, allowing players to set specific parameters around their Sims' romantic exclusivity physically and emotionally. This feature enables Sims to engage in multiple romantic relationships simultaneously without negative repercussions on other relationships, addressing a long-standing request from the community for more inclusive and diverse relationship options.

Community Reaction and Anticipation

The Sims community has expressed overwhelming support and excitement for the new polyamory feature, celebrating the end of needing workarounds like mods or the "player" trait for polyamorous Sims. With this update, EA not only caters to veteran PC players but also extends these dynamic relationship choices to console players who previously lacked mod access. The free update and Lovestruck expansion pack are set to release on July 25, marking a significant milestone in the series nearly a quarter-century after its inception.
