The 10 minutes of The Day Before gameplay made a significant impression on gamers and caused a wave of discussion. Alas, this is an unfortunate incident in the history of the gaming industry. The developers of The Day Before novelty were accused of directly copying scenes from the Call of Duty video trailer. In addition, in the published videos, gamers noticed a striking similarity with the materials of such games as The Division, The Last of Us, etc.
It is noted that the developer company Fntastic repeated in its video for the shooter The Day Before the video scenes from the video dedicated to the release of the spectacular zombie mode in the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The author of the popular YouTube channel, Force Gaming, drew the gaming community's attention to this. He confirmed his words with published screenshots from two videos shown. Indeed, there is some similarity in the video scenes. However, more is needed to prove that the developers resorted to copying and plagiarism.
Later, the Internet noted the similarity of some fragments from the video trailers of The Last of Us and not only. Social media users also commented on the similarities between action art and Tom Clancy's The Division content. For example, in one photo, we can see three cars in a snow-covered area. Remember the same photo illustrations of the video game Saber Interactive?
So far, the company has not responded to comments from disappointed gamers.
In principle, the use of references in developing new products is every day in the gaming industry. But some gamers are sure that the company could not stay within limits in this case. And everything that happened looks too much like a complete copy, which cannot help but upset fans expecting unique content.
