Sony supplies semiconductors and makes it easy to buy PS5

Sony is planning at least 14.8 million new consoles this year.

The company’s Chief Financial Officer Totoki has promised that purchasing PS5 consoles will soon become much easier.

During their recent income statement, Totoki was asked about a global shortage of semiconductors. Their shortage has made it hard to find PS5 stock since the console's release last November. Totoki responded to investors that Sony has determined the number of consoles to be sold this year and has also provided all the chipsets needed to manufacture those consoles.

For this fiscal year, which ends in March 2022, the company plans to ship more than 14.8 million PS5consoles, according to Totoki. The company has sold just over 10 million units since the launch of consoles, so there will likely be a large increase in the number of new consoles within the next year.

But it was difficult for players to get the PS5 due to a variety of reasons. Manufacturing and delivery routes all over the world have been heavily impacted not only by the shortage of semiconductors but also by the global pandemic. There is another reason - when the consoles started shipping, special teams caused supply disruptions because they first bought and then resold more than 60,000 new machines.

Earlier, the company confused the players a little, because it unexpectedly offered the owners of their new console to buy another PS5. However, now the components have already been received and we expect that the possible owners of PS5have a good chance to finally get their console.
