Sony Confirms The Last of Us Part II Remastered PC Release Details

The Last of Us Part II PC Remastered edition launches tomorrow, on April 3, 2025, developed in partnership with Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy. It delivers a visually enhanced and content-rich experience that will grip both seasoned survivors and newcomers alike. Beyond a bevy of graphical and performance enhancements, this version also introduces exciting new content for the game’s challenging No Return mode and even a stylish crossover with Naughty Dog's upcoming sci-fi epic.

A Post-Apocalyptic PC Paradise

The PC version offers a truly tailored experience. From Nvidia DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.1/4 boosting visual fidelity to ultrawide monitor support expanding your field of view, this is The Last of Us Part II as you’ve never seen it before. Fine-tune every graphical detail, from textures and shadows to reflections and ambient occlusion, ensuring a performance that matches your rig. DirectStorage support minimizes load times, while customizable keyboard and mouse inputs, alongside full gamepad compatibility (including DualSense haptic feedback), offer unparalleled control over Ellie’s brutal journey. Immerse yourself further with 3D audio, bringing the haunting sounds of a broken world to life. No Return mode receives a significant update with the arrival of two new playable characters: the hardened smuggler Bill, wielding a custom pump shotgun and boasting melee resistance, and the resourceful Marlene, equipped with a custom assault rifle and the ability to reroute her escape. But beware, these advantages come with unique limitations that will test your strategic thinking. Adding to the challenge are four new maps: Overlook, a vertical combat zone high above Seattle; School, a haunting abandoned elementary school; Streets, set in the overgrown Hillcrest neighborhood; and Nest, based on Abby’s terrifying infected-infested level. This thrilling new content also arrives on PS5 via a free 2.0.0 patch, launching simultaneously with the PC version.

A PlayStation Plus Perk and a Glimpse into the Intergalactic

Connecting your PSN account on PC, while optional, unlocks bonus in-game points, trophy support, and a stylish new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. This skin will also be unlockable for PS5 players via in-game points. Speaking of Intergalactic, Neil Druckmann recently shed more light on this ambitious project, describing a four-year development journey exploring themes of faith, religion, and transformation, starring Tati Gabrielle as the enigmatic Jordan A. Mun. With The Last of Us Part II Remastered hitting PC just ahead of Season 2 of the hit HBO series, the universe continues to expand, offering new ways to experience this gripping narrative.
