In Starfield, Bethesda's latest game, players can now freely utilize mods without forfeiting their in-game achievements. Similar to previous Bethesda titles, Starfield initially prevents achievements when certain mods or the command console are engaged. Nevertheless, modders have devised a solution.
The clash between Bethesda and the dedicated Starfield modding community sparked into existence with the early access debut of the game, a point vividly illustrated by Synth Potato's tweet on September 1st. In a swift response, NexusMods user Priqrade introduced a modification that effectively sidestepped Bethesda's achievement constraints. For the majority of players, it functioned with remarkable smoothness. Another modder, Rennieboy, stepped forward, offering detailed instructions that have since elevated their status among modders with a keen eye on achievements.
In the ever-evolving realm of Starfield, modder Shad0wshayd3 has assumed responsibility for the "SFSE Baka Achievement Enabler" with a vote of confidence from Rennieboy. This ingenious modification rekindles achievements via console commands and eliminates intrusive pop-up dialogs. Notably, removing the mod or future game updates will have no repercussions on saved game progress. Users laud its dependability, often deeming it as "simply flawless." The modification seamlessly integrates with fresh and pre-existing saved game files when users adhere to the installation instructions.
This isn't the first time modders have resurrected achievements in Bethesda games. Mods for Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4 gained popularity. Shad0wshayd3's mod is on track to do the same, with over 21,000 downloads in two days, providing a mod-friendly achievement experience to Starfield players.
