Apex Legends Banned More Than 2 Thousand “Dashboarding” Players

The banning of players, which occurred on July 30, was reported by Respawn security specialist Conor Ford. The deadline for the blocking is still unknown, but cheaters will miss the beginning of the tenth season.

Ford banned 2086 accounts that used two types of exploits. One made it possible not to lose rating points after defeats, and the other allowed high-ranked players to join the Bronze Division lobby. The number of locks by the platform was distributed as follows: PS4 - 1965 players, Xbox - 62, PC - 44, and Nintendo Switch - 15.

In this way, cheaters did not use any prohibited software or additional equipment but abused a vulnerability in the matchmaking system. High-level professional players deliberately ended up in bronze lobbies with inexperienced newcomers, about whom they wiped their feet, earning experience faster than they would have done with players of their level.

A Respawn spokesman did not elaborate on why the most bans occurred on PS4. Social media users suggested that this could be due to the "dashboarding" technique, which allows you to exit ranked games before losing and not lose points, only works on PS4.

The length of the bans will depend on how actively players used exploits, Ford said. He did not specify for how long he banned the cheaters but stressed that they would miss the start of next season. It’s good news for players as no one will spoil the gaming process.

Also, Respawn Entertainment's Battle Royale players have discovered a bug causing Apex Legends to drop only two items instead of three. Soon, the developers released a patch that solves the problem, which was reported on Twitter. According to Respawn, the bug arose due to a new statistics counter for Lifeline, which was registered in the drop from the sets ahead of schedule.

Earlier, Respawn published a gameplay trailer for the tenth season of Apex Legends, which will begin on August 3. There will be a new hero in the Next season of Battle Royale. Seer can track opponents with drones. Also, he will be able to hear the heartbeat of nearby enemies, disable the skills of other characters and create a sphere that will show opponents actively moving within the area. In addition, the Rampage LMG machine gun will be added to Apex. Furthermore, the developers will also change the “World's Edge” map, introduce rating arenas and new maps for this mode.
