Activision contributed to the closure of the Call of Duty video game mod

Gamers learned that work on the mod for the popular shooter was discontinued. It happened due to a complaint from the developer of the original game, which demanded that work on the project be stopped immediately.

So, much to the regret of the fans, the company is closing the mod after more than two years of work by the creators. Known to us as "SM2", the massive mod was supposed to rework the original game. The mod developers would like to please game fans with group chat voice features, more than 100 powerful weapons, and redesigned game systems.

Recall that this mod was based on the original game of 2009 but contained interesting elements of some of the past parts of the game series. Soon the engine was replaced with a  version from the acclaimed Modern Warfare Remastered. The novelty was going to be released for players in an accessible mode, but the game developer reacted negatively to such actions of the fans.

The mod creators notified gamers that they received a corresponding document from the company. The mod developers sincerely thanked the fans for their support for two years. Note that there were no comments from the company itself.

The players are very saddened by this event, but the company has already decided, and the mod's creators had to carry it out.
