Crysis Remastered Trilogy Will Release This Fall

Crytek has made an official announcement of the release of Crysis Remastered Trilogy on the bulk of the modern platforms including Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the older consoles as well as PC. The official date of the release is October 15th. The fans of the series are excited to come back to the famous science fiction universe.

A re-release of the original Crysis Remastered was launched last year. For customers who have already bought it, both sequels will be available to purchase together or separately both physically and digitally. Considering the current trend of developing remasters of the hits of previous years, the Crysis trilogy is a perfect source to make some modern optimized re-releases.

PS and Xbox consoles will have exclusive physical versions of the games. The PC version of the updated trilogy will first be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Furthermore, a remaster of the first part of the series will soon appear on Steam.

Besides, Crytek announced that the remastered titles will be released separately as physical releases on Switch, but provided no dates. Such physical versions of the trilogy are provided with special bonus art cards. Among them, there will be 20 cards signed by the developers of the remaster. Pretty good surprise for the fans of the series.

As expected, the upcoming remaster will include Crysis Remastered, Crysis 2 Remastered, and Crysis 3 Remastered. The visuals have been reworked, with the frame rate increased to 60 frames per second, and the resolution, textures, and lighting have been significantly improved. Back in the time of the release of the original trilogy, the Crysis games were famous for their outstanding graphics. It seems like the remaster will bring back such a reputation to the titles in the modern gaming world.

The developers reported that besides the graphics improvements, the titles will have much better performance. It’s quite significant as when the original Crysis games were released, the bulk of PCs had too low technical specifications to run the titles. The remastered trilogy is expected to be more accessible and optimized for modern platforms.

The developers released a video with a comparison of the versions for Xbox 360 and Xbox Series X. Despite the fact that they can be immediately distinguished, it is impossible to talk about considerable innovative changes as these consoles were developed with a difference of 15 years.
