Metal Gear Solid Delta is Almost Done, but No Release Date Yet

Fans of the legendary Metal Gear Solid franchise are straining their ears, hoping to glimpse the highly anticipated remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta. Konami's recent Production Hotline brought encouraging news and frustrating silence, leaving fans with hope and simmering impatience.

The Game is Playable, But Konami's Playing Hard to Get With a Release Date

The biggest question on everyone's mind – "When can we finally get our hands on it?" – remains unanswered. Production producer Noriaki Okamura, while assuring fans that development is making good progress, confessed that a concrete release date is still elusive. But there's a glimmer of hope in his words that it's not years before release, hinting that the game is nearing completion.

Despite the lack of a specific date, the good news is that the game is currently playable from start to finish. This suggests that the development process is moving beyond the initial stages and into the crucial refinement phase. Okamura emphasized that the team is taking their time to ensure the game is "done right," a statement that will likely resonate with fans who crave a polished and respectful remake.

Recently, fans got a tantalizing sneak peek of Metal Gear Solid Delta with the release of the prologue. The positive response gave fans a taste of the remake's stunning visuals and engaging gameplay. It will be showcased again at the Tokyo Game Show later this month, indicating the publisher has confidence in the game's progress.

A Remake With Respect for Its Roots

One of the most exciting aspects of the remake is the developers' unwavering commitment to staying true to the original MGS3. The team has described the remake as "almost too faithful," which is music to the ears of fans who treasure the original game's iconic moments. While the developers are not labeling it “a Hideo Kojima game,” this dedication to preserving the essence of the original game demonstrates a deep respect for the source material.

With this game playable from start to finish and a public preview at the gaming event, it seems the game is on the cusp of completion. While the team is dedicated to delivering a polished product, fans can look forward to further updates as development progresses. Hopefully, a release date will be unveiled soon, allowing fans to finally step back into the jungle and experience the Snake Eater saga in a new light.
