Horizon Forbidden West Coming In Q1 2022

According to famous video game industry journalist Jason Schreier, Horizon Forbidden West is delayed to Q1 next year. Previously, there were some rumors about the delay of the release, but recently it was confirmed by reputable sources.

Despite there was no official announcement yet, Jason Schreier provided information on the Web that indirectly confirms that Guerrilla Games and Sony decided to postpone the release of Horizon Forbidden West to 2022. The reporter stated that the delay was confirmed by a person related to the development of the game. Earlier, the head of the PlayStation gaming direction Hermen Hulst already spoke about the possibility of postponing the game. Nevertheless, it’s not very upsetting news for the fans as then he clarified that the developers will try to release Horizon Forbidden West for the holiday season. Hence, the delay is not that long.

Schreier stated that such a decision to postpone the release was made by the company not very long ago. The main reason for the delay is production difficulties amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The remote work negatively influenced the development of numerous upcoming projects. Schreier thinks that Sony has no final decision yet. Another famous reporter Jeff Grubb is inclined to the probability of the delay. According to his sources and suggestions, we can expect some updates related to the game next fall during the PlayStation Direct presentation. Grubb waits for official announcements and doesn’t exclude the release of the game this year though.

Forbidden West was announced a year earlier, at the launch of the PlayStation 5, but the first gameplay video was shown only in May. The action title will be released on both PS5 and PS4. The previous part of the franchise Horizon: Zero Dawn, released in 2017, has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Despite the upcoming game being an exclusive for consoles, later Sony may release a PC version as well. Many Sony hit exclusive titles were released for PC and had a lot of success and profit for the company.
