Guide to Saving Everyone in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

So, you’ve strapped on your Veilguard armor and stepped into Thedas. Ambitious, I like it. But ambition without a plan is like a nug without its horn – pointless. This guide is your key to not just surviving Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but conquering it. We're aiming for the "The Ones That Last" achievement/trophy, the ultimate happy ending (well, mostly happy). Ready to become a legend? Let's go.

1. Alliance Building 101: Friends in High Places

Faction strength is your lifeblood in Thedas. Max it out (3200 points/three stars for each of the six factions) by completing every faction quest you can find. Loot everything. Seriously, everything. Sell it to the faction merchants, prioritizing faction-preferred items (they're worth 5x more!). Keep a close eye on your overall Allied Strength; it’ll impact key decisions later.

2. A City Must Fall (Sorry, Not Sorry):

A Warden's Best Friend presents a brutal choice: Minrathous or Treviso. Save Minrathous. Losing it cripples your ability to maximize the Shadow Dragons' strength. Sacrificing Treviso hurts (especially romance-wise), but the Antivan Crows are resourceful; they'll bounce back. Pro-tip: Max out their strength before the decision. Damage control, people.

3. Assembling the A-Team:

Your companions aren't just followers; they're your weapons. Invest in them! Complete all companion quests, choose perks wisely, and equip the best armor. "Hero of the Veilguard" status is basically a cheat code for survival.

4. Mythal's Wisdom (or Lack Thereof):

In Regrets of the Dread Wolf, talk Mythal down. Combat is messy; diplomacy gets you "Clear Minds and Open Hearts" and Mythal's Favor. You'll need both. Sadly, someone must be sacrificed. Choose Davrin. Harding's strategic mind is essential for the endgame.

5. The Last Gambit: Tactical Genius Required:

Think of The Last Gambit as your final exam. Deploy your forces wisely: Emmrich (or Taash) for the Veil Jumpers, Lucanis (or Antivan Crows/Emmrich) handles Shadow Dragons/Lords of Fortune, Harding (or Taash) takes on Grey Wardens/Mourn Watch. Keep Taash defending the Divine's Manor; it's important.

6. Showdown Time: Dance with the Dread Wolf:

Bring Neve and Harding to the final battle against Elgar'nan. Neve's magic and Harding's tactical brilliance are your winning combo.

7. Basking in Glory (and Achievements):

Elgar'nan defeated? Check. Bellara returned? Check. "The Ones That Last" popped? Checkmate. You've conquered Thedas, saved your friends, and earned bragging rights. Go forth and boast, champion. You deserve it.
