Konami Will Update eFootball 2022 As Soon As Possible

Konami’s latest release received extremely negative feedback and was maximally criticized. Fans are shocked by the awful quality of the title. However, the creators have already apologized and promised to improve the game this month.

A new anti-record holder has appeared in the Steam game catalog. Konami's eFootball 2022 became the worst game on Steam almost immediately after the announcement, both in terms of reviews and ratings.

The project already has 10% of positive reviews out of more than 15,500, but at some point, there were only 8% of them. The game is criticized for a huge number of problems and its essence in general. Gamers didn't like outdated graphics, poor physics, technical problems, balance, and more. In addition, players compare eFootball 2022 to PES games, as the former is actually a reimagining of the PES line of games. And the novelty does not stand up to such a comparison, since it has changed a lot. Judging by the reviews, not in favor of most players and fans of the series.

The football fans criticize the lack of variability, impossibility of finding anything other than a friendly match, problems with downloads and an online connection, as well as performance problems. In addition, the game physics, movements of sportsmen, and their extremely strange facial expressions, instantly turned into a parade of memes, were criticized. The project was developed not on the previous Fox Engine, but on Unreal Engine 4, which affected the final results.

Representatives of the company, in turn, said that they are aware of the problems and will try to fix them, and starting next week, the developers will work on the update, which should be released this month.

Things are bad for Konami as their main competitor FIFA 22 appeared quite high-quality and satisfied the majority of players and critics. The football simulator developed by EA features great graphics, well-developed animations, interesting, and flexible gameplay. Perhaps the only advantage of eFootball 2022 for today is that it’s a service with constant updates due to which you will not have to buy a new part every year.

Konami also promised to continue supporting the project, trying to take into account all these shortcomings. However, no specific timeframe for fixes was named. Not everyone on the Internet appreciated such a statement, and some even called it a typical example of the work of the PR department.
