The Trevor DLC for GTA V Was Developed But Never Released

In a recent Q&A session, Steve Ogg, the actor behind Trevor in Grand Theft Auto V, revealed details about a scrapped DLC in which his character would have been a clumsy undercover government agent, described humorously as "James Bond Trevor." Despite shooting some scenes, Rockstar Games, the developers of GTA 5, unexpectedly dropped the project with no further explanation provided.

Rockstar's Strategic Shift and DLC Discontinuation

The abandonment of the "Agent Trevor" DLC coincided with Rockstar's strategic shift towards enhancing GTA Online. Statements made in 2017 by the company suggested a move away from single-player expansions, favoring online growth instead. This shift in focus is corroborated by findings from a datamine last year, revealing an 'Agent Trevor' file in GTA 5's source code, hinting at the planned but unreleased content.

Behind-the-Scenes and GTA 5's Legacy

Additionally, actor Ned Luke disclosed that the entirety of GTA 5's filming was documented, though this material was never released. The scrapped DLC and unreleased documentary footage point to a wealth of hidden content from GTA 5's development, highlighting video game production's unpredictable and often secretive nature. This peek into what might have been adds depth to the legacy of one of the best-selling video games in history.
