Free Access to PvE Mode for Escape From Tarkov Players Confirmed

Battlestate Games has announced that the upcoming PvE mode for 'Escape From Tarkov' will only be accessible through the new Unheard Edition, which costs $250. The recent decision made by the game publisher contradicted the previous promises made to the owners of the Edge of Darkness Edition. These owners were assured that they would have free access to all future add-ons. However, the decision was reversed, and the owners were asked to pay for the extra content. This decision was met with a lot of negative reactions from the community. They expressed their concerns about the broken promises and the pay-to-win dynamics of the game.

Developer Response and Policy Reversals

To appease the community backlash, developers offered a free PvE mode to EoD owners for six months; however, it failed to satisfy the community and the uproar continued. In response to the overwhelmingly negative feedback, the leader of Battlestate Games issued an apology through Reddit, recognizing their mistake in not predicting the community's reaction. As a result, the company changed its policy once again, making the PvE mode available to all players once the game leaves beta. The studio cited limited server capacity as the reason for any delay.

Future Promises and Community Engagement

Despite the events of the past week, Battlestate Games has announced plans to improve the game by adding mod support to the offline mode and keeping the Unheard Edition available for those who want to support the game financially. The developers promised to continue developing and enhancing the game with new content leading up to and beyond its official release, reassuring the community.
