In the Railway Empire France DLC you will decide your countrys industrial future. Either take sides with a militaristic general and increase the strength of Frances borders in anticipation of a new war or help the minister of public work to rebuild the infrastructure of the country and undertake the controversial new Eiffel Tower project.

In Railway Empire, you will create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network, purchase over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, and buy or build railway stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to keep your travel network ahead of the competition. Youll also need to hire and manage your workforce if you want to ensure an efficient train service, whilst also develop over 300 technologies ranging from mechanical improvements to the trains themselves to workplace infrastructures and advanced amenities as you progress through five eras of technological innovations. However, you cant just build and research your way to the top the competition never sleeps, and to keep your business on track youll have to survive against up to three rival tycoons. To get to the top you may have to resort to more cutthroat tactics as you attack and sabotage your opponents through raids and industrial espionage.

The Railway Empire is an economical strategy, which requires from you constant vigilance and control over your own business and budget. Don't worry though, young businessmen. You may be guided through the tutorial by Thomas Clark Durant, one of the head honchos of the Union Pacific. His experience is going to help you at the beginning of your adventure. Sooner or later though, you will be going to make your own decisions. Every little aspect is going to be important, such as smartly placed supply stations on long stretches of track, or the need for brief stretches of parallel tracks so trains can pass each other with minimal delays. Later in the game, you will be able to construct other buildings like universities to attract people to towns, in which your railways are located.

The campaign is a set of smart scenarios which not only are going to slowly put you against harder and harder challenges but also, they're going to teach you about history. The opening chapters start in Great Plains in the 1860s but then they throw you back to the 1830s to pit you against competitors on the East Coast. You will be able to prepare logistics during the Civil War or build bridges over Mississippi River. It is you, who can turn the United States into a powerful country.
